I started travelling when I was 16 and since then have been able to lucky to visit approximately 35 countries. While booking the trips, I realised that a lot of blogs talk about the how of a particular destination. Don't get me wrong - those blogs helped me a lot while planning the trips. I realised, however, that most of those blogs don't talk about the glories, the awe that we experience when we travel. Every place is life-changing and teaches us something.. either what to do or what not to do in life. There is also an element of being grateful that travel brings to us. But the biggest is humility. When I saw the majestic mountains, the deserts, the massive beautiful beaches, all I could think about was.. I am blessed to be able to see it.
Vignettebyurmi is about sharing those life-changing experiences, the learnings, the feelings, the awe and the extreme sense of gratefulness towards the superpower. whatever you call it - the universe, the big bang theory or god... I call it god.
Since the time I held my first camera, my wish was to feel deeply about every picture I click. Since then, my camera has been a great travel partner in doing justice to what I felt at that moment and capturing it just the way I wanted it.
I not only hope you like the photographs but also the story behind them and my intention is to be able to express my deepest granular feelings in those travels with you and listen to yours. I also want to share with you the thought process that goes into selecting a destination - not money, not distance but my travels have always had a deeper reason to it - may be a particular image that I saw in the magazine or movie that I wanted to live "exactly" as my eyes captured.
